Madagascar
Madagascar is a large island off the coast of Africa. Madagascar's major exports are: Coffee, Vanilla(Madagascar is the world's largest exporter of Vanilla), sugarcane, cloves, cocoa, rice, cassava (tapioca), beans, bananas, and peanuts. Madagascar is sometimes considered to be the "Eighth Continent" because 90% of all the plant species that grow in Madagascar is native only to Madagascar! The most common job in Madagascar is a farmer, because it is hard for people to get a good education. There is an animal in Madagascar that rates among the most ferocious on earth, pound-for-pound. It is the fossa. Formerly classified in the cat family, it looks to be part cat and part dog, but was finally classified as being related to the mongoose. This land carnivore, the largest in Madagascar, commonly preys on lemur and birds, and many exaggerated legends circulate in regard to its ferocity. The leading cause of death is lower respiratory infections. This is serious because people in Madagascar can't use the internet like we do so it is harder to make good medicine.
